Too Far Down the Rabbit Hole
You have probably seen it. The picture of Trump, standing next to Maria Machado, with that goofy ass smile. If you can call that a smile, I don’t think he has ever actually smiled for real. And holding her Nobel Peace Medal, in a god awful gilded frame. And then he posts on his crappy untruth social network that she gave him the award, for “the work I have done”.
How embarrassing. I think he actually thinks he has now won the Nobel Peace Prize. Let that sink in for a moment. The man actually thinks that by attacking Venezuela, kidnapping it’s leader, and stealing their property, then blackmailing Machado and making her promises he will not be able to keep, he can claim that he won the Peace Prize! How far down the rabbit hole are we?
The truth is he’s completely delusional and seriously ill. We all know it, and this is just another example. He should not hold any office, be allowed to make decisions, or most likely even be able to operate machinery, including a golf cart. The people around him know this of course, it’s not like you can hide this kind of crazy. He just proved it again. Yet they rally around him, making statements that are so easy to prove are false that it would be comical if not so dangerous.
It’s very hard for me, and I imagine most people, to argue against this kind of idiocy. In a world of “alternative facts”, where there is no shared reality, there is no method of debate. It can’t be done. Up is down, 2+2 is not 4, but could be anything other than 4, and Donald Trump is playing 3D chess while the rest of us are just too ignorant to understand how great we have it! And MAGA as well as a lot of the press just nod along, “Yup, he should have won it anyway! He ended (pick a number from a hat) wars!”
But the truth is most of us don’t live in that world. We KNOW! And every time he does something this obviously insane, more of those who are not really paying attention will be dragged back out of that rabbit hole and will maybe confront reality. Our President is out of his mind! Do something!
So hopefully that’s the effect of this charade. Trump did not win anything. I would pity him if he were almost anyone else, but I can’t. So enough time spent on this new distraction. Back to the message.
